Feilding Stock Sale
MUTTON VALUES EASIER
MARKET FOR DAIRY LINES BRIGHTER Fat sheep and dairy cattle made up the bulk of the yarding at the Feilding stock sale yesterday. On last week's rates mutton values were easier, ewes being down by 2/ a head and wethers by up to 1/0 a head. A small yarding of store sheep, mainly ewes in lamb, sold at late rates, while a particularly light entry of store cattle of poor quality found buyers at current market values. Tho fat cattle pens offered butchers a selection of good bullocks as well as cow' beef, prices being slightly better for the better sorts. The large entry of dairy stock attracted the usual big gathering of farmers, and keen competition followed the offering of the different lots. Good close-to-prolit cows realised to £S 7/6, the best of the heifers being 10/ dearer.
