GOVERNOR OF BOMBAY DENIES THAT COERCION WAS USED.
GANDHI MAY NOT ATTEND LONDON CONFERENCE
United Press Association. —By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright. DELHI, Aug. 12. The Governor of Bombay, Colonel /. E. Hotson, has written to Gandhi denying any breach of the terms of the Delhi agreement and the exercise of coercion in the collecting of revenue in Guyerat. Gandhi has telegraphed the Viceroy saying that he has found it difficult to proceed to London. The Viceroy’s reply is awaited. The situation is serious. Hindu-Moslem Riot on Frontier Received Thursday, 10.20 p.m. DELHI, Aug. 13. Two Hindus and one Moslem were killed and 16 injured in a grave communal riot at Dera Ismail Kahn on the Northwest frontier. Hindu’s shops were looted and destroyed. The shopkeepers fired on the rioters in self-defence.
