Feilding Borough Council
JUBILEE MEETING. The jubilee meeting of the Feilding Borough Council was held last evening, the Mayor (Mr. C. E. Taylor) presiding. There were also present: Crs. B. Fair, S, D. Pearce, T. Collins, A. C. McCorkindale, I). G. Cullinane, D. Pryde, J. Corpe, A. H. Maguire and G. Kilvington. Proceedings in Tegard to the action taken to mark the jubilee are reported elsewhere on this page. The tender of Mr. D. Pryde for winding and maintaining the Post Office clock for one year for the sum of £ls was accepted. No action' was taken with regard to a letter from the "Woodvillo County Council suggesting a ceremony to mark the completion and opening of the upper Manawatu Gorge bridge. It was agreed to leave in the hands of the Mayor and Town Clerk the matter of the issuo of new debentures to replace those destroyed by fire at the time of the Napier earthquake. Accounts amounting to £341 11s 3d were passed for payment and accounts amounting to £3393 0s 9d paid since the la. ', meeting were approved. In reply to their request, the residrr'.t of Grey street are to be informed that their application for ■ a footpath will be considered when the council is in a position to lay down permanent footpaths on both sides of streets in the borough. With reference to the application of the I’eilding Agricultural High School for the covering in the North street drain at the entrance to the new buildings now being erected, the council resolved, on the recommendation of the works committee, that the work was not warranted.
