HORTICULTURAL SOCIETY MEETING.
There was a large attendance of committee members at a meeting of the Rongotea Horticultural Society in the Town Board room on Tuesday evening, when Mr. H. V. Caverhill presided. The meeting was called to revise the schedule for the forthcoming show to be held on September 15, the schedule committee's recommendations being confirmed. Judges for the various sections were agreed upon (subject to consent): — Mr. A. J. Shailer, vegetables and miscellaneous; Mr. J. L. Weightman, bulbs; Mrs. McMurray, cookery and decorative. Stewards: Luncheon, Mesdames N. K. Knight, A. G. Dear and Redmayne; produce stall, Mrs. A. J. Will; bulbs, Mrs. L. H. Yarrall and Mrs. Will; beginners’ class, Mr. W. G. Bond; miscellaneous, Mrs. T. Collins and Mrs. H, V. Caverhill; decorative, Mrs. W. J. Read and Mrs. C. Davison; children's section, Miss V. Hobbs; vegetables, Mr. A. Pedley; supervising stewards, Mrs. A. J. Will and Mr. J. C. Glover. It "was decided to ask Mr. Linklater, M. to open the show. Mr. J. Davidson, of Palmerston North, has offered to bring a concert party out on the evening of the show to entertain and Mr Gloyn was authorised to make the necessary arrangements.
