Acclimatisation Society

MONTHLY MEETING, At the monthly meeting of the Feeding branch of the Acclimatisation Society held on Tuesday evening, Mr. A. If. Marshall, who has held the position of secretary for five and a-half years, tendered his resignation owing to his removal to Palmerston North. Tho president, Mr. P. H. Stockwoll, in proposing that the resignation be accepted with great regret, referred to the very capable way in which the secretarial duties had been carried out by Mr. Marshall, who was not only a careful and courteous secretary, but an enthusiastic sportsman. Not only as secretary was he of service to the society, but also for his all-round interest in sport. The members of the society and ail license-holders would be sorry to lose him from tho district. Other members endorsed the chairman is remarks, all wishing Mr. Marshall the best of luck. Mr. Chas. Wickham was elected secretary in place of Mr. Marshall. It was also decided not to suppprt a proposal by the Wellington Society that the weight of lead on fishing lines bo limited.
