Labour's Attitude To Economy Report

RUGBY, Aug. 10.

The Prime Minister, who is spending a holiday at Lossiemouth, is duo to return to London by August 24th, when ho will preside over meetings of the Cabinet Sub-Committee which has been appointed to advise Cabinet on the attitude to be adopted to tho report of the Economy Committee. Tho Daily Mail’s special correspondent at Lossiemouth states that the Prime Minister has now indicated his intention of making an earlier return to London. Although there is no real urgency demanding his return, he wishes to keep in closer touch with London than is possible by telephone communication.

British Official Wireless RUGBY, Aug. 10, The Prime Minister, Mr. Ramsay MacDonald, who has been in Scotland since the House of Commons rose for tho summer vacation, is returning to London by train to-night. It is understood that he wishes to gain closer touch with current State business.' It is his intention to see as many Ministers as are in London to-morrow. The whole general situation, both political and financial, is expected to engage the attention of Air. AlacDonald and his colleagues for the next day or two. The Chancellor of the Exchequer, Air. Snowden, will probably return to London from his home at Tilford, Surrey, It had been previously arranged that Air. Al’acDonald should come south for a meeting on August 24th of the Cabinet Subcommittee which is to consider the report of the Economy Committee. It is not possible to say if these arrangements will be modified or if the Sub-Commieeeo will meet earlier, but the Economy report is bound to be one of tho leading subjects under discussion between Alinistcrs. It is believed that the Prime Alinister hopes to transact thy immediate business in hand within a day or two and return to Lossiemouth to resume his holidays.
