Chamber of Commerce Holds Monthly Meeting
The monthly meeting of the council of the Palmerston North Chamber of Commerce was held yesterday afternoon, the president (Mr. M. H. Oram) occupying the chair. Also present were: Messrs. J. H. Stevens, F. W. Furby, A. P. Stuart, W. H. Brown, T. E. French, E. L. C. Aitchison, S. A. Goldingham, L. H. Collin,son, Jas. Wallace, J. Deem and D. Watson. Apologies for absence were received from Messrs. R. A. Noedl, W. E. Winks and H. B. Free. The annual conference, the Associated Chambers of Commerce advised, would be held at Wellington on October 22 and 23. All remits were to be forwarded not later than August 30. • —The president, vice-president and Mr. Stevens were appointed a sub-com-mittee to go into remits.
