Chilean Training Ship in Auckland
Per Press Association. AUCKLAND, Last Night. The Chilean training ship General Baquenado arrived from Sydney to-day, salutes being exchanged as the sliip entered port. The Chilean Consul (Mr. Craig) welcomed Captain Alvarez. There wore a number of official calls, following which tho ship was thrown open for inspection and many Aucklanders went on board. It is expected that tho vessel will be in Auckland for eight days. Nothing definite has been arranged yet regarding tho prospective visit to Wellington. Tho ship’s complement totals 17 officers, 24 midshipmen, four petty officers and 269 other ranks.
