Probably due, iii a large measure, fo the fact that. the. .Palmerston North Theatres (Ltd.) team managed to play some 22 players against 'the opposition at one. stage, the Phoenix .(Palmerston North) Club members were: just able to contest a drawn. ■ hockey ’ game at the Terrace End ‘ park in > the early hours of Sunday morning. Tho teams were:— ■ Palmerston Theatres (green and white): Meikle, L. Wilson, Zimmerman, Colevas, Wilson, Abosolam, Andrews, Smith, Brown, Armstrong and ‘Whitehead. Phoenix: Turner, Debracery, Lundy, Findlay, Palenski, .Scott, Shortt, A. Ward, Blummont, R. Ward and Pratt. At any Tate the score-board showed even pegging at 6 all after 75 minutes of strenuous play and .everybody was satisfied. The invidual scorers, however,, are unknown, the 200 spectators 'being(far too interested in'.the exhibition tbLpay any attention to such, meagre details as these, hence , the heroes of the first-annual match will ‘bp forgotten in years'to. come.
