The many friends of Mrs. Rao Dudding, of Halcombe, will be ■ pleased to learn that she is making very satisfactory progress after undergoing an operation last week in the Palmerston Nortu hospital.
On Tuesday, August 4, a further refresher course in folk dancing was held by tho Palmerston North branch of the Women’s Teachers' Association, instruction being given by Miss Curtis, of Fcilding. Supper was provided by members from Terrace End and Hokowkitu schools, at the conclusion of, which votes of thanks were passed to College street school committee for the use of the school hall free of charge, to Miss Curtis and to the ladies who had kindly provided tho suppor,
Alias C. B. Alills, principal of the Nelson Girls’ College for the last five years, and formerly principal of the Palmerston North Girls’ High School, notified her resignation to the Nelson College Council of Governors last week. Miss Alills expressed her pleasure at being associated with the Nelson College, and thanked the council for its courtesy and consideration. In accepting the resignation with regret, a motion was carried placing on record the council’s appreciation of Aliss Alills’s services to tho college, and to the cause of education. Miss Alills will relinquish her position at the end of the school year.
