Road Report
The Manawatu Automobile Association lias received advice that tho Parapara road (north of Wanganui), which was blocked this week by slips which came down on Tuesday last, is now open for traffic. Work is also proceeding on tho slip between Taihape and Mangawcka, and light traffic can now use this highway. , The scecrctary (Mr. S. I. McKenzie) stated to a Times reporter yesterday that it was anticipated that full reports on tho condition of roads throughout tho North Island would be coming to hand frequently, and motorists would thus be acquainted with details immediately any highway was blocked or reopened for traffic. These improved facilities, lie said, were a direct outcome of a decision reached at the recent service officers’ conference at Palmerston North.
