Traffic Inspector Dies of Injuries

MOTOR CYCLE EVIDENTLY COLLIDED WITH COW. Per Press Association. THAMES, Aug. 4. W. R. Johnston, traffic inspector for the Haurald Plains County, was found unconscious on the main road near Ngatea early on Sunday morning, his motor cycle lying close by, while a dead cow' was lying about twenty feet away. Mr Johnston died in hospital last night. Ho had been in Thames on Saturday night, and it is believed that when he was cycling home to Ngatea, he collided with the cow, killing it. He suffered a fracture of the base of tho skull and a lacerated brain. An inquest will be held.
