WELLINGTON, Last Night. It was mentioned in the Supreme Court this morning that tho Crown proposed entering a stay of proceedings in the case of Arthur Wallace liienardson, cashier, who was charged with the theft, as a servant, from the City Rates Olhee of £O6 Is 2d, the property of the Wellington City Corporation. Richardson, who pleaded not guilty, appeared in the (Supremo Court lor trial last Friday, Ihc jury, after having been out four hours, failed to agree, and on the application of the Assistant Crown Prosecutor a new trial was granted. The retrial was to have taken place this week, but it is now not intended by the Crown to proceed. Mr. W. E, Leicester appeared for Richardson.
