“Sante Fe Trail” is Real Western Film
The new programmo coming to the Kosy on -Wednesday next is one that will appeal to juveniles as well as adults. The principal feature is “The Santo Po Trail,” a story of ranches, cattlemen - and Indians, in which Richard Aden stars with Rosita Moreno. It is the old story of sheepmen being run off the flat lands by cattlemen. As a last resort they make terms with the Spanish owner of a large ranch with a water supply which promises to bring success, and incidentally brings Hollister, the sheep man, into contact with the ranch owner’s charming daughter. There is some difficulty over using Indians to herd the sheep, and the situation is complicated when Coniard, who already holds mortgages over portions of the ranch, steatiiily shoots the Indian chief and informs the tribe that Hollister is the guilty party. A couple of youngsters —who, by the way, give the drama a humorous turn —witness the deed and warn thehouschold. Hollister has placed himself in the hands of the Indians, and is about to be killed when they arrive on the scene. Conlard: is-brought to book, the sheep enter the ranch,; and a love scene brings things to a happy conclusion. There are some . exciting episodes with the Indians.
