Two Motor Salesmen Charged With Perjury
SEQUEL TO COLLISION AT DANNEVIRKE. Per Press Association. DANNEVIRKE, Last Night. Charges of perjury arising out of a motor collision in Dannevirke on October (5 last were preferred against two motor salesmen, Wm. Andrew Allen, of Dannevirke, and Vivian Carr, of Wellington. The case is a sequel to a civil action for damages arising out of a collisiion in which Magistrate Miller commented upon the unsatisfactory nature of tho evidence. The alleged perjury hinged upon the question as to whether one of tho vehicles in the collision was removed from the scene of the accident or remained there as accused alleged it did. They pleaded not guilty and were committed to the Supreme Court at Napier for trial. Bail was allowed.
