“Judgment of Solomon”
The classical example of “the judgment of Solomon,” occurred when each of two women claimed to be the mother of a certain child. Solomon, seeing that neither would abandon her claim, ordered the child to be cut in two, and half given to each. The reaPmother then relinquished her claim so that the child might live, whereupon Solomon pronounced judgment in her favour.
