‘THE SHANNONS OP BROADWAY.’ AND ‘SPRING IS HERE.’

Commencing to-night at rue Majestic Theatre, Feilding and continuing tomorrow at the matinee “The Shannons of Broadway” and “Spring is Here” two all-talking singing and’ dancing comedy attractions will be presented at the favourite picture rendezvous. Theatre-going audiences will have a chance to judge for themselves as -to the merits of stage and screen training, ■when “Spring is Here” is shown. Half tf tho cast has been recruited from the stage and the other half from the old guard of the screen. Inez Courtney of “Good News” fame in New York, plays the part of baby sister Mary Jane Braley, Betty Bralev, the older sister, is portrayed by Bcrnicc Claire, who plaved “Margot” in "The Desert Song” in New York, whereas Terry Clayton is played by Alexander Gray, who appeared opposite Marilyn Miller in “Sally.” and opposite Miss Claire in “The Dcsei-t Song.” On the screen side we have such old timers as Ford Sterling of Keystone Kops fame. He plays the part of Peter Braley, the girl’s irritable father. Louise Fazenda also of Sennett fame, plays bis dutiful wife. Emily. The other of the -screen ouard is Lawrence Gray, who lias played in “Stage Struck,” and “The Untamed Lady.” The stcfrv, “Spring is Here,” is based on the popular musical comedy that had a long run in New York.
