Trowern (Auckland) and Tommy Fairhall (Australia) at tho Opera House, Palmerston North, on Tuesday evening, February 24, will be learnt of with pleasure by all who know anything of tho records of these two fighting men. Although only 23 years old, Reg. Trowern has been in the ring sinco 1924 as a professional. Before turning pro. “Chum,” as he is better known to his many boxing acquaintances, fought 22 amateur fights, losing on only four occasions. Trowern was only 16 when he first started in the game. He has fought in all parts of New Zealand and Australia and has gained victories over such men as Charlie Purdy, Gene Volaire, Raymond Jansen, Billy Chambers, Salvino Jamito, Wally Hancock, Ted Morgan, Jimmy Pearce and Bob Miller (champion of Ireland). The only occasion on which Trowern has

Trowcrn’s opponent, Tommy Fairhall, i- r.: e present welterweight champion of Australia after staging one of the greatest comebacks ever known in the Australian ring by defeating the champion Hancock. A spoiling paper commenting on the fight stated that at times Fairhall had Hancock groping around the ring like a ship without a rudder. *

Tho fact that all profits made on the fight will be handed over to tho relief fund should not bo forgotten by the sporting public, who will realise that they are helping a good cause as well as witnessing a first-class box' ig match. There will be four amateur bouts bef ire tho big match, which will bo refereed by Mr. Earl Stewart, of Wellington.
