Bride and Maids in Frocks of Taffeta

EYIIE—THWAITES. All Saints’ Church, Palmerston North, was the scene of an interesting wedding last evening, when Olga Olevedon, daughter of Mr. and Ml'S. 12. i’. Thwaites, of 24 Alan street, Palmerston North, was married to William Hubert, only son of Mr. It. H. Eyre, of Ohelwood street, Palmerston North. Mauve and blue hydrangeas and feathery greenery made a charmiug setting for the wedding group, 'fho ceremony was performed by the Itev. Canon G. Y. Woodward, Mr. J. Holmes Itunniclcs playing tho wedding music. The bride, who was escorted by her father, looked very attractive in her model gown of ivory taffeta faille. Tho long bodice was moulded to tho figure and tho fully flared skirt was ground length at tho back. The skirt was inlet with silk net on which was appliqued a design outlined with silver thread, the same ornamenting being carried out on tho bodice and short coatee. Her close-fitting sleeves were of net with a flared frill over the bands. The beautifully embroidered veil, which formed a long train, was caught to her head with a coronet of orange blossoms finished with side posies. She wore a string of pearls and ivory court shoes and carried a sheaf of lilies, gladioli and maiden hair fern. Miss Mary Thwaites and Miss Bonny Thwaites, sisters of the bride, were in. attendance as bridesmaids, wearing! primrose and eau do nil taffeta frocks I respectively. Pashioned alike their! long-sleeved frocks had close-fitting 1 bodices and fully flared ankle-length ! skirts trimmed with wheels of rucked j taffeta. They wore capeline felts! turned off their faces with bows of j taffeta, shoes and stockings toning with their frocks. They also wore necklaces of pearls and carried bouquets of bronze-shaded dahlias and gladioli and maiden hair fern. The bridegroom was supported by Mr. Harold Smith, of Palmerston North, as best man, Mr. Colin McKenzie, also of Palmerston North, carrying out tho duties of groomsman.

Hollowing the ceremony there was a reception at the Bosco tea-rooms.

Mr. and Mrs. Thwaites and Mr. and Miss Eyre received the guests in the lounge, where bowls of tiger lilies, gerberas and tritomas in flame shades, also white hyacinths made striking do. coration.

Mrs. Thwaites, mother of tho bride, wore an ensemble of floral georgette patterned in green and petunia, with godets of black georgette. Her hat Was of black lace straw edged with crinoline with black osprey and she wore black satin shoes and carried a bouquet of red dahlias, gold roses and maiden hair fern. Miss Eyre, sister of the bridegroom, wore an ankle-length frock of lemon georgette, a cap of tulle, and evening wrap of blue lame with fur collar and cuff's. She carried a bouquet of pink gladioli and maiden hair fern. Miss Gladys Thwaites, sister of the bride, wore a crimson and blue floral georgette frock, a blue satin' evening coat, with smart red hat and shoes.

In the restaurant blue hare-bells, French hydrangeas, and posies of geranium, hare-bells and maiden hair fern wero arranged with artistic effect, tall stands -with bowls of orchid dahlias, lilium auratum and other flowers being most noticeable. The wedding party sat at a central table from which radiated the tables £or the guests.

After the usual congratulations had been offered and the toasts honoured, the bride and bridegroom left on their •wedding trip. For travelling Mrs. Eyre had chosen a smart ensemble of blue and grey flecked tweed, the coat of which had a small cape. With this was worn a tuck-in blouse of saxe blue satin with pleated jabot and beret of tweed. She also wore navy shoes and grey stockings and carried a navy handbag. Mr. and Mrs. Eyre -will reside in Hamilton, where Mr. Eyre is an instructor in phvsical drill and secretary of the Y.M.C.A.
