Better Return Hopefully Than Travel Empty
To tho Editor. Sir, —Curing the holiday season, and especially among teachers and pupils who travel, the system of reserving scats on tho railways has proved its efficiency and convenience. This is reflected in the orderly manner in which the crowded train loads arc accommodated. By the issue of excursion return tickets at a rate substantially lower than two singre fares, the Department has also restrained the tendency to travel by car one way in order to vary tho journey. Many who travel much, think this system should be applied to ordinary return tickets, and that it would materially increase railway traffic. In all rural bus services it certainly has that effect.—l am, etc., :' ' HAERENOA.
