Guy Menzies Unable to Visit Palmerston City
LEAVES FOR SYDNEY ON FRIDAY. Mr. D. Reid, ropresenativo of the Atlantic Union Oil Company in Palmerston North lias received advice that Mr Guy Mcnzics, who recently flew the’ Tasman in the Southern Cross Junior, will be unable to visit Palmer ston North. Arrangements had been finalised tor Mr Mcnzics to proceed by ’plane to Palmerston North to-morrow, but the project has now been abandoned. The reason for this decision is -that the twa Gipsy Moth ’planes loaned to the aviator and his companion arc required itr Canterbury, and have been recalled. Mr: Mcnzics left Wanganui for Wellington on .Sunday, and will embark on Friday for Sydney. It is stated that no other ’planes were available for the visit to Palmerston North, and that owing to engine trouble, it -would bo an unjustifiable risk to fly a valuable machine like the Southern Cross Junioi It is the intention of Mr. Menzie? to take the ’plane back to Sydney for repairs, and it will be shipped on Friday. u'. ......
