YESTERDAY’S CASES. Mr. J. L. Stout, S.M., presided over yesterday’s sitting of ttto Magistrate’s Court wnen miscellaneous cases were heard.

Mitchell was fined £lO, costs 12s, for not possessing a heavy traffic license. It was explained that this was the second offence in this connection. L. Blaclcbournc was charged that, being the driver of a ’bus, he failed to comply with the directions of the traffic inspector in bringing his vehicle to a standstill in the Square, the case being dismissed.

W. 11. Cook pleaded not guilty to a charge of plying for hire as a taxidriver in Palmerston City without a license, stating that he had not paid over the money to the authorities, but had given it to the manager of the taxi company, who had neglected to pay the amount. The case was'dismissed. William Park, an hotel porter, w r as called upon to face a charge of unlawfully supplying liquor on hotel premises and was mulcted in the sum of £2 and costs.
