Better Physique in Men
Inquiries in the hosiery and clothing trades in London suggest that masculine physique is improving, and that the chest measurement has increased. The head of the men’s wear department in a large London departmental store states that nowadays he takes the 38in. chest as the standard size in suits, where 10 or 15 years ago the largest demand was for 36in. The explanation is not.that men prefer more loosely fitting clothes than in the old days, but that the average man of the younger generation measures more raajid the .chest than Jus father.
