Will Not Risk Going to Country
LONDON, Dec. IS,
A joint meeting of tho Parliamentary Labour Party and the National Executive of Labour Peers was held to-day. Messrs. MacDonald and Henderson denied that there was any pact with tho Liberals. Mr. MacDonald declared that it would be political suicide to go to the country at present. Mr. Henderson, supporting this view, made it clear that the party was aiming at remaining in offiicc for a further two years.
The hope was expressed that unemployment would diminish. Tho Government’s present difficulty is the School Age Bill, forty*members intimating that they must vote against it.
