The Auckland Comedy Players, under the direction of Mr J. F. Montague, will give two one-act plays at, IYA this evening.. The first will be “The Devil’s Rock,” which was a prize-winneV in the play-writing competition held by the IY'A Musical and Dramatic Advisory Committee. It is a very dramatic play and was specially written for broadcasting by Miss Betty Kerr, of Timaru.

2YA has a popular concert for this evening. The contributing artists will include the Melody Four, whose popularity never wanes, Mrs. B. S. Allwright (soprano), a mandolin duo (Messrs J. H. Thomas and B. French), and The Skctchers, who will present a series of sketches. The Salon Orchestra will provide an orchestral programme.

3YA will be broadcasting a boxing tournament between Otago and Canterbury. A relay of that immortal work, Handel’s “Messiah,” to be performed in the Dunedin Town Hall by the Dunedin Choral Society, under the conductorship of Dr. V. E. Galway, will be relayed by iYA. 2FC SYDNEY. Radio Dance Night. Who can resist the lure of lilting music and the call of the dance that runs riot, in the blood of every man? Another State-wide Radio Dance Night will be heard from 2FC to-night, and should be as popular as ever. The assisting artists will be Grace Quine (popular vocalist), Frank Ryan (comedian) and John Warren (tenor) so that entertainment in the intervals between the dances will be of a popular order. So don’t forget to clear odd chairs out of the way and tune in for a merry night. 2BL SYDNEY. A concert programme arranged by the Musical Association of New South Wales will provide the first half of the evening presentation from 2BL tonight. Frank Hutchens (pianist) and

Nora Williamson (violinist) will present a violin and piano sonata as the opening item, and Miss Williamson will later contribute a violin solo. Miss Williamson studied at the New South Wales Couservatorium ol Music with Florence Hoogstoel, and in 1922 went to B'orlin, where she, continued her studies with Carl Flescli. Miss. Williamson gave four recitals in Berlin which were entirely satisfactory. The vocalist of the occasion will be Miss Edna King (soprano), who will also make her first appearance from the A.B.C. to-night in tho progranmio being arranged by the Musical Association of New South Wales.
