“LET’S GO PLACES.” Now’s your chance to see what Hollywood’s really like. Revealing glimpses of the celluloid capital its glitter and its gaiety, its. studios and restaurants, its fun and frolic form the setting of “Let’s. Go Places,” the Fox Movietone musical, extravaganza which is showing at the Dq Luxe Theatre to-night. Many of these-backgrounds, such as th© forecourt of Grauman’s Chinese Theatre, -are among the show spots of the film metropolis', while others, such as the spectacular Cafe I’Aiglon, are purely imaginary but none the less entertaining. Director Frank Strayer has injected plenty of comedy and sparkling melodies into his rapid-fire story, and has also introduced two ballet sequences of extraordinary novelty, the “Parade of the Blues” and the “Snowball Man.” The story itself concerns a youthful tenor and his over-enthusiastic manager who come to the film capital in an effort to “crash the gates” of screen fame. Joseph Wagstaff as the young tenor and Lola Lane as the screen star enact their roles excellently, as do the other co-featured players, consisting of Frank Richardson, Dixie Lee, Sharon Lynn, Walter Catlett Charles Judels and Ilka Chase. “Chasing Rainbows,” To-morrow Bessie Love will appear at tho Do Duxe Theatre to-morrow in her latest all talkie Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer picture, “Chasing Rainbows,” with a cast of players including Charles King, Jack Benny, George K. Arthur, Polly Moran, Gwen Lee, Nita Martan, Eddie Phillips Marie Drossier and Yoiicca Troubotskoy. Tochnicolour revue scenes are a spectacular contribution to tho production.
