Congratulatory Telegrams on Reaching City Status
The Mayor of-palmerston North, Mr. A. J. Graham, has received the following congratulatory message on Palmerston North reaching city status: Mr. W. Rogers (the Mayor of Wanganui): “Heartiest congratulations from Mayor, councillors and citizens of Wanganui on your attainment to the status of a city.” Air. J. A. Nash, M.P., forwarded th 3 following message'-from Wellington yesterday to the Mayor: ; ‘ ‘Please convey my heartiest congratulations to ike council and citizens of Palmcrstoi; North on attaining the dignity of a city; also to your worthy self on being the first Mayor under the new designation.”
