Rice-growing in N.S.W.
The resident engineer of the I.colon irrigation scheme, New South Wales., writing to a friend in Palmerston North says: “I suppose you .have heard oi out 'great rice boom’ on the irrigation area. Many of the settlers growing rice are doing extremely well and' will dear over £2OOO on 100 acres this year. Crops of 200 bushels to the acre are not uncommon, and the average uiU probably be over 100 bushels.
