The Daily News points out that the fcreshadowod appointment of Sir Isaac Isaacs as Governor-General of Australia means a- constitutional revolution. The report has caused surprise in London and embarrassment at the Dominions Office, where complcto ignorance of the idea is professed. The paper adds: “What is causing comment is the report that the post has been offered to anyone, presumably by the Australian Government, ’thus putting aside all precedents and convention."

The report that the Australian Government has recommended a GovernorGeneral of the Commonwealth has revived gossip here as to who will succeed Lord Willing&on at the expiration of his term next year. It is frequently suggested that the Duke of York will be named and he is likely to be the first choice of Canadians. In case this is impossible, the question of the appointment of a Canadian will Undoubtedly be given consideration. In this connection, the name of Sir Robert Borden, forme: Prime. Minister, is often mentioned.
