A motor accident occurred at the corner of Hobson and Beattie streets, Feilding, on Friday evening, shortly after 5 o’clock, when a car owned and driven by Air. J. Cockhead was run into by one driven by a Mrs. Webb, oi Palmerston North. It appears that Mr. Cockhead was proceeding to town via Hobson street and was about to take the intersection when the other car, proceeding up Beattie street from town, caught the rear off side wheel of Air. Cockhead’s car. The result was that the wheel was smashed and the mudguard badly bent while the bumper of tho other car was broken. No one was injured.

Yesterday was a great day for Salvationists in Feilding, tho occasion being the visit of Commissioner Cunningham, accompanied by Commissioner Wilson 0.8. E., of London. Special services wore held throughout the day and in the afternoon a crowded audience followed with the utmost interest, a special lecture on tho social work of j the Army in England, delivered by Commissioner Cunningham. As the result of an accident on Friday Mr. C. Way, mechanic, employed at Bain’s' garage, lost the second linger of his left hand. Ho was operating on some revolving machinery when the cloth in his hand became caught, drawing his hand into' contact with the machinery. The finger was so badly damaged that it was found necessary to amputate it. The many friends of Air. E. H. Fisher, of Feilding, will be pleased to learn that he is making very satisfactory progress.

The illness of Mr. A. Williamson was referred to at the annual meeting of the Feilding branch of the W.E.A., when a resolution was carried expressing tho hope for a speedy xecovry.
