Notes of the Day

Mr. George Kingston, of Feilding, who has been in Wellington for some months receiving professional dancing instruction, is in town making his final arrangements prior to his departure for Sydney. The jvide circle of friends of Mr. E. H. Fisher, of Feilding, will regret to leant that his continued indisposition rendered necessary another operation on Saturday morning. It appears that it was found necessary to proceed with a further amputation on the leg previously operated upon and this was successfully performed on Saturday morning at the Feilding private hospital. Mr. Fisher is progressing as satisfactorily as can be expected. Arrangements are well forward for the celebration of the Makino road school jubilee, which has been fixed for March 5. Indications are that there will be a very large gathering of expupils at the function. The rain which fell on Saturday was responsible for cricket and tennis fixtures in Feilding being postponed. At the Salvation Army citadel on Sunday evening, a memorial service was held for the late Bro. A. Collyer, a well-known and hardworking Salvationist for a great number of years. The service was attended by a large congregation. At a meeting of Cheltenham settlers last week, it was decided to hold the annual horticultural show on March 5.
