ALL ABOARD FOR ORONGORONGO.—Councillors, municipal officers, and ladies made a full day of it at the Mayor’s picnic at Wainui and Orongorongo (Wellington) on Wednesday. The Orongorongo valley is reached by a one-horse power express, a dark and rattling trip through the two-mile Semple tunnel, but the bush there is more than worth the trip. Below is a view of the Morton dam looking up from the weir.
