Damages amounting to £477 Is were awarded Rudolf Findertip, a waterside worker, who had claimed £691 from the Wellington Harbour Board and the New Zealand Shipping Company for injuries received through being struck by a hatch beam while working on the steamer Tasmania last September. He had both his legs broken. In the Supreme Court, Henry Huggins, sheet metal worker, of Tinakori road, claimed £576 17s from the Canadian Knight and Whippet Motor Coy., motor importers, in respect of an accident when plaintiff fell down an inspection pit in defendant’s garage and broke a leg. The jury after a lengthy retirement awarded £373 15s damages. The entering of judgment was deferred pending legal argument on non-suit points.
