THE PLUMBERS’ SHIELD.

A DRAWN GAME. As threatened last week, the land agents made an attack on the plumbers last Wednesday for tho Plumbers’ Shield. The plumbers’ team was Karton, Kirk, Kope and Ramsay, their opponents being Mowlem, Milton, Mallichan, and Milson. At one stage of the game the Land Agents had a lead of 12 to 1, when something happened—the earthquake—and from then on it appeared as if their nerve had gone and the plumbers gradually overhauled them to see tho game end in a draw—l 9 all. Next week we understand that the auctioneers will attempt to take possesison of the coveted trophy. FLETCHER SHIELD GAME. The following Terrace End rinks will play Manawatu on Saturday on tho Manawatu green, for the Fletcher Shield:—Kendall, Pearce, Christensen, Jones (s); Knowles, Follas, Wilkinson, O’Shea (s); Munro, Ashton, Cope, Moffatt (s); Litchfield, Gordon, Allan, Duncalf (s). The following will play friendly games against Shannon on the Terrace End green:—Andrews, Cole, Evans, Anderson (s); Ernstrom, McKinnon, Thomas, McLeod (s); Simpson, Wass, Mills, Helsby (s); A. J. Smith, Ncwlands, Baldwin, Madden (s).
