WELLINGTON ELEVEN WINS BY 65 RUNS WICKET WEARS WELL. Per Press Association. DUNEDIN, Last Night. The Plunket Shield match between Otago and Wellington was concluded on tho Carisbrook ground to-day, when the homo side collapsed in sight of victory. Tho weather was warm and sunny, tho wicket was in good order and the outfield as fast as it had been through the match. Wellington had six wickets down for 112 in tho second innings, when play was resumed and its innings was brought to a close beforo lunch, the last wicket falling with the total at 172. This left the Otago side 258 to make to run. Five wickets had fallen in tho home team's second striko for 180 and the position looked rosy for a win, with only 78 runs to get with five wickets yet to fall, but Cavanagh’s downfall was only the preface to disaster. The colt had played a good innings for 87 but tho Otago captain, Alloo, went out a few minutes after him and tho remaining four wickets fell before 200 was reached, the innings closing for 193.

Baker, Henderson and Hollings wero most effective bowlers, tho first-named taking 5 for 50, the second 3 for 4S and the last-named two for 18.
