Value of Research Work is Stressed
DISTINGUISHED VISITOR’S VIEW “I am a very strong believer in research work,” said Viscount Craigavon, Prime Minister of Northern Ireland, during the course of a civic welcome extended to him in Palmerston North yesterday. “Up to the present time, everything needed for life in r.his wonderful country has been poured out by Nature’s bounty. It is only when we get into what I may call confined farming that meticulous examination becomes necessary and tho necessity for research presents itself. It is only by research that we can discover those things which prevent the best being taken out of the land.”
