At a meeting of the Merionethshire Fishery Board a few weeks ago attention was drawn to the need for more bailiffs' to. protect the rivers from poachers. It was stated that Salmon pools in the Mawddach River had been gapped by poaching,, cyclists carrying away whole sackfuls. The poachers had now taken to using motor-cars.
