Moroccan Phosphate
The installations and works necessary to the working of the phosphate fields in the region of Gantour have been declared by the Moroccan Government to be of public utility, together with the construction of a Tailroad which will link up these fields with Saffi. It is thought that the construction of the railway and the necessary alterations at the port of Saffi to enable steamers to lie alongside and load phosphate, will take about four years to accomplish. Although no official information relative to the quality of thfe phosphate in this region is yet to hand, it is' reported that it is of a slightly lower grade than that at Kourigha.
