That the day will come when scientists would be chosen as governors of British colonies, instead of distinguished soldiers, sailors and politicians, was a forecast mado by Sir Richard Gregory, when presiding at a dinner of the Royal Empiro Socioty in conjunction with the British Association for the. Advancement of Science.
