Leckie and Sarron Not Matched in P.N.

NEGOTIATIONS PROCEEDING A statement published yesterday that Johnny Leckie and Pete Sarron have been matched in Palmerston North on Boxing night is not confirmed by officials of the Manawatu Boxing Association. Leckie, who is getting back to form, has definitely assured the association that his services will be available for Boxing night, but so far no opponent has been arranged for him. Negotiations, however, are proceeding through the association’s new Australian representative, Mr. E. C. Turner, and it is expected that a definite announcement will be made at an early date.
