TOWN BOARD.

At the monthly meeting of the Kongotea Town Board, there were present Messrs L. H. Yarrall (chairman), A. Trenkner, T. -Fraser, S. J. Teaz, E. J. Arnott and the clerk (Mr. C. P. Wood). Constable Blaxland waited on the board concerning the parking of cars at. the saleyards on sale days. This, he said, was 4 very annoying sight and also dangerous. He suggested that a by-law bo passed, compelling car owners to park their vehicles in uniform order. The matter was adjourned pending the reading of the by-laws by the clerk. Mr. Fraser proposed getting a pound in Eongotea, as it was rather inconvenient for the rangers to drive stock to Sanson, which was the nearest pound. The clerk explained that the cost of the upkeep of a pound was excessive and there was a great difficulty in getting and keeping a ranger. Accounts amounting to £34 2s 7d were passed for payment.

Payouts. The Eongotea Dairy Company’s dircc tors decided to pay out Is 6d per lb. of butterfat for the month of August, The Makowhai cheese factory payout is Is 6d for cheese for August.
