BEAUTIFUL HANDS

Let tho well-turned-out woman remember that hands are not always covered with gloves. The colour, the texture, and the flexibility of the hands are- their most important attributes requiring cultivation. Some hands are • white by nature, and their owners proportionately fortunate. Other hands are .unpleasantly red, and some, unluckier still, are almost blue.

These defects can be mitigated it’ they cannot always bo cured. Sometimes it is a question of the circulation. Get this right and the colour of the hands will improve.’

For this purpose frequent immersion of the hands in warm, not hot, water, careful drying, and then gentle massage with glycerine and cucumber hr other simple greasy medium aro efficient measures.

After the massage the hands should be slipped into loose gloves and rested on a cushion placed at tho level of the shoulders or a little higher. For the purpose of softening the hands the greasy application and ■ the gloves should be worn through the night. For remedying tho hands flexible each separate finger should be massaged and worked up and down and from, side to sido and the process repeated with tho hand as a whole. For the woman who cannot play the piano a little dermal player should bo used, at least five minutes twice or three times a day, but for those who can and will uso the piano for half an hour a day this is sufficient finger exercise.
