LINTON RIFLE CLUB
The final stage of the championship and club handicap series was reached on Monday evening, when J. McAvinue was successful in the championship and H. Hosking in the club handicap. The possible in each case was 1000, J. McAvinue 's score being 081 with-H. Alltree and F. Lewis tying for runner-up with 976 each. Hosking's score in the handicap was 978, handicap 15, total 988; H. WagstaH, 964—24—988; H. Alltree, 976—9—985; W. Salmon, 973—12—985.
It is interesting to note that McAvinue, although only a junior shot, has annexed three championships in the course of one season, having also won the Linton Club’s 303. championship at Trcnthaai in February, 1929. F. It. Lewis was the winner of the fortnightly spoon with a score from scratch of 276.
