How They Ran Special to Times. CHRISTCHURCH, Last Night. Fine weather favoured the Canterbury Jockey Club for the concluding day of the winter meeting. The track was fast and the racing was interesting throughout. An inquiry into the fall of Young

Tkurnham, which resulted in an injury of E. Shaw on the second day, was concluded. The finding was that no one was to blame for the accident.

Leader Leads Again. Leader, Blue Metal and Boi do Val were the favourites for the Longbeach Handicap and they all ran good races. Leader, as usual, began brilliantly and he led on to the course proper, where Boi de Val worked his way through. Boi de Val threw out a good challenge, but Leader won by two lengths. Blue Metal was a similar distance away, third, Dutch Money was fourth, then came Tourist, Pat's Boy and Lucky Bag.

Birkbeclt Encore. Birkbeck and Kaikaku carried the money in the Aylesbury Steeplechase and they paid the dividends. Kaikahu was in charge entering on the last round and he led till the turning for home, where Birkbeck moved up. The latter was first over the last fence and from there, drew away to win easily by live lengths, while Kaikahu beat Silver Light by ten lengths for second place, Maitaipuke was fourth.

raveurites Out of It. Mangani, Lancer and Aberfeldy ail had a big following for the Sydenham Hurdles, which was a great race. Passing the stand the first time, Mangani, Horomea and Elysianor were the leaders from Ited Euchsia, Aberfeldy and Apaehe. Bed Fuchsia got to the froit along the back and led Elysianor, Mangani and Locarno. Bed Fuchsia was first into the straight from Elysianor and Locarno, with Mangani handy. The leader went on to win by two lengths from Elysianor, with Perle de Leon half a length away and Mangani a close fourth. Perle de Leon finished very fast. The time, 3.37 4-5> was very fast and probably established a new record. Atareria, Horomea and Lancer followed the placed horses home.

Aurora Borealis Narrowly. Fine Acre was favourite for the Styx Hurdles. Aurora Borealis led after crossing the first fence from Gala Day, Carinthia, Fine Acre and Paris. Antrim Boy fell at Cutts' and Amorist was badly interfered with. Gala Day led to the straight from Paris, Aurora Borealis and Fine Acre and in a hard finish, Aurora Borealis won by a head from Gala Day, which beat Paris by three lengths. Carinthia and Fine Acre were next.

All the Way, Wiltshire. Backed to a short price, Wiltshire won the Lincoln Steeplechase all the way. Bangi Sarto was lying second passing through the straight and Dubious and Fabriano were next. Just before the Kennels' double, the last time, Wiltshire, Bangi Sarto, Fabriano and Dubious were bunched, but Wiltshire jumped to the front at the double and went right away to win easily by six lengths from King’s Guard, which beat Fabriano by three lengths, with Matu fourth. Glendowie lost his rider and Young Thurnham was pulled up. Wiltshire won without much effort.

Black/Dulse to the Front. In the Heathcote Handicap, Pangolin led from Black Duke, Otairi and Full Feather, Taboo and Vesperus. This was the order into the straight, where Black Duke ran to the front and lasted long enough to win by half a length from Taboo, which beat Otairi by a length. Black Mint was followed by .Vesperus and Town Bank.

Small But Sweet Return. Narrative, Honeycomb and Hounslow were among the best backed for the Redcliffs Handicap. from the rails, began well, but crossing the top, Hounslow had run to the front and was leading, alone with Dundalk and The Bailiff, while Narrative, Sweet Refrain, Glyn Dhu and Honeycomb were next. Narrative and Hounslow were in charge a furlong from home, but under pressure, Honeycomb wore them down and won by a length from Narrative, while Glyn Dhu ran up into third place, just ahead of The Bailiff, Hounslow was fifth.

A Big Price. There was a good range of betting on the Selwyn Handicap, Subdivision got to the front early in the race and led into the straight from Haiti, Gold Cure, Royal Saxon and Sudden Storm. Subdivision maintained a good lead to win easily by three lengths from Bonogne with Haiti third and Royal Saxon and Maui next. The winner paid a sensational' dividend.
