SUSPECTED GAMING HOUSE IS RAIDED
INVERCARGILL CHARGE. Per Press Association. INVERCARGILL, Last Night. On Saturday morning, Detective-Ser-geant Hewitt, Sergeant Abel and Constables Beadle and Nesbit, acting under a search warrant, visited the house ot Thomas H. Brewer junr., and arrested him on a charge of keeping a commoa gaming house. Accused appeared before Justices i.i the Police Court in tho afternoon and was remanded until August 19, bail being allowed in the sum of £IOO.
FOUR RAIDS IN GISBORNE. GISBORNE, Aug. 17. The police made a raid of the betting fraternity this afternoon, four prominent residents being arrested on charges of breaches of the Gaming Act. The cases will bo heard on Monday.
