BLASTING ACCIDENT. 1 Per Press Association. CHRISTCHURCH, List Night. One man was killed and another ir jured in a blasting accident at Gebbie ’ Pass yesterday. The man killed wa John Hubber, a widower, aged 53, en ployed by tho Public Works eDeparl nent on the road at Gebbie’s Valley. Hubber was 80 yards from thp.spc where the gelignite was firfed but.’ large piece of rock which was throty out, hit h}m, causing sevelre intern: injuries. He died ah hour and a ha later. John Daly, who was working wit Hubber, was also struck by a piece c rock but was only bruißeil.
