USE FOR OLD LINEN
Old linen sheets, worn right away in the middle, can be turned to very good purpose. Tray cloths, tea napkins, tea cosy covers, and so on, can be made up from the smaller sound parts, and the worn parts can be used up as tea towels. If a large tablecloth is desired, the best plan is to cut four square or oblong pieces of exactly the same size. These are made up quite separately, hemstitched and embroidered, and are then joined together into one large cloth with lace insertion. Ihe whole is surrounded with a deeper edging to match the insertion. The effect is good, and the insertion and hemstitching show up well on the dark eillfagfl o f tllß table —————
