WOODVILLE
From Our Own Correspondent. Carnival Notes. Last evening a very happy time was spent at the residence of Mr. and Mrs. J. M. Hutchinson, Papatawa, when large numbers were present at a social evening in the interest of queen No. 1. Cards and dancing were indulged in and Miss Giles contributed two very pleasing songs. Becitations were given by the Misses Halpin and Bell and the music for the dancing was supplied by Mrs. J. S. Nelson. During the evening, a beautiful cake made and donated by Mrs. Huggins was won by Mrs. Corpe. .Supper was served and it was a late hour when the last car departed. The dance for queen No. 2 at the racecourso tea kiosk on Thursday evening proved to be a great success, there being a very good attendance.
