CHILDREN'S TANDY DRESS BALL. The annual fancy dress ball in con- . jiection with the Cheltenham school was held in the hall on Wednesday. Despite the wet 'evening, a large number of children and adults attended. However the prevailing flu affected the attendance to some extent, as some of the children arc away from school sick . The hall had been tastefully decorated by willing helpers with greenery, ferns, streamers, coloured papers and baloons, the whole effect being very pleasing. The costumes all looked exceedingly well and the grand march showed these off to advantage. Miss Ba»rro,w and Mrs Dermer played the music for the children’s dances, while Mr Port supplied the music for the adult dance which followed. Mr. A. B. Shannon, chairman of the school committee, thanked all who had worked to make the function such a success.' The net proceeds were between £6 and £7, which amount goes to the children’s gift book fund.
