ROYAL PRINCE’S VISIT TO AUSTRALIA IN 1931

NO PREPARATIONS MADE. TOUR WOULD INCLUDE NEW ZEALAND. United Press Association —By Electril Telegraph—Copyright. LONDON, Juno 26. It is officially stated at York Houso that no preparations aro being made for the I’rinco of Wales to visit Australia in 1031. Tho Australian Press Association interviewed tho Prince of Wales’s secretary who said: “We do not know anything regarding the rumour from Sydney that the Prince of Wales has been asked to go to Australia in 1931. No invitation has been received. However, 1931 is a long way off and it is surely premature.” The Australian Press Association asked: “Is the visit improbable?” and the reply was: “No.” Tho Colonial Office authorities emphatically discount the reports of the Prince of Wales’s visit. They admitted it was possible, although at present it had not been arranged, that one of the younger princes may visit Australia, but certainly not solely to open a bridge. It might possibly be arranged, if the visit: were extended to other important functions. Tn any case it must include a tour of Australia and New Zealand similar to that of the Duke and Duchess of York.
